About Us

We are Kevin and Noemi – two Pretzel Lovers who missed their daily Pretzel in the morning. 

Noemi is Italian, but she grew up in Germany in Baden-Württemberg with fresh Pretzels from childhood and has been a Pretzel connoisseur ever since she can remember.

Kevin is a born-and-raised Bavarian who has loved Pretzels his entire life. From Oktoberfest to casual weekends, Pretzels have always been part of his story. 

Four years ago we moved to Amsterdam and quickly realized something was missing: real, authentic German Pretzels. Every time we went back to Germany to see our families, we stuffed ourselves with dozens of Pretzels until our stomachs hurt. Eventually we thought: if we can’t find proper ones here, we’ll just have to bake them ourselves and get us back to a healthy Pretzel consumption. 

Two years ago it started as a little hobby in our kitchen. What began as “let’s see if this works” quickly turned into a true passion. We experimented with recipes, tested countless variations, ended up with flour in our hair, and stayed up late debating how much butter belongs on a Pretzel (the answer: plenty). The hobby became a passion - and that led us to start Not Just Pretzels.

Today we bake real, handmade German style Pretzels in Amsterdam - crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, with that perfect dark chestnutbrownish crust and unmistakable Pretzel flavor you'll never forget. Whether classic with Pretzel salt, with butter, cheese or in creative new varieties - we want to show what a truly great Pretzel tastes like.

For us, the Pretzel is more than just a baked good. It’s home, it’s joy, and a little piece of happiness we bring fresh to our beautiful city every day.
